DevCut shows a single sponsored line in your VS Code status bar while you wait on builds, tests, and deploys — and pays you a share of the revenue. No subscriptions. No bloat. Just quiet income.
Every developer stares at a terminal for thousands of hours a year. We put that attention to work — transparently and opt-in.
One click from the VS Code Marketplace. Completely free. Open source. No personal data beyond a pseudonymous user ID.
Build, test, install — exactly as you do today. When a task takes longer than 3 seconds, a single sponsored line appears in the status bar.
Every 30-second slot is an impression. Clicks earn more. Your tally accumulates in real time, visible from the Command Palette.
Set your UPI ID and withdraw once your balance crosses the minimum. Batch payouts keep fees small. India-first, global-ready.
Drag the slider — see your estimated monthly payout.
Estimate: ~12 ad slots/hr × ₹0.04/slot × 22 working days. Actual depends on active build/test time. See full breakdown →

Side projects on weekends. 1–2h of builds/tests per day.
Full-time dev, 4–6h of active build / test / install time daily.
8–10h/day, heavy CI, multiple repos, Docker builds constantly.
Estimates at 12 slots/hr × ₹0.04/slot × 22 days. Full earnings breakdown →
Whether you write code or fund products, there is a seat at the table for you.
Turn the time you already spend waiting on builds into a passive income stream. Zero effort after install.
Reach developers at the exact moment they are attentive and idle — not scrolling a feed, not watching a video.
The split is hardcoded in the open-source server — anyone can audit it on GitHub.
No agency needed. Set a bid, choose a slot type, and your message starts running the moment you win the auction.

Developers generate billions of dollars in value every day. They also spend a significant chunk of that day waiting — for builds to finish, tests to pass, images to pull. That wait time is attention. And attention has always been worth something.
DevCut routes a slice of that value back to the creators who generate it, through a system that is transparent, opt-in, and open source. No dark patterns. No data harvesting. Just a fair exchange: you give an advertiser a few seconds of eyeballs, you get paid, they get a qualified lead.
The only developer ad platform with UPI payouts, INR pricing, and an Indian advertiser network. Neither competitor supports this. We do — today.
Weekly auto-payout to any UPI ID — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, bank UPI. ₹50 minimum. No Stripe, no dollar conversion, no blocked accounts.
Hasura, Razorpay, Postman, BrowserStack — Indian SaaS companies already invest in developer audiences. We give them the right channel.
India has 17M+ developers — the world's fastest-growing base. DevCut is built by an Indian developer, for the community he lives in.
Stripe Connect hasn't supported Indian developer payouts due to RBI regulations. Indian developers who earned on other platforms can't withdraw. DevCut uses Razorpay X — the infrastructure that actually works here.
The extension, the server, the bidding logic — all of it is on GitHub under an MIT licence. Audit the code, fork it, run your own instance, or send a PR. If you are running an ad inside someone's editor, you owe them complete transparency about how it works.
We are onboarding the first 500 developers and advertisers before the public launch. Leave your details — we will reach out personally.

No. It only makes a single lightweight HTTP call when a task starts (to fetch the ad line) and another when it ends (to record the impression). No background polling, no analytics SDK.
Yes. One command — DevCut: Toggle — or flip the setting devcut.enabled to false. Earnings pause and resume when you re-enable.
Only a pseudonymous user ID generated locally on first install and a UPI handle if you set one for payouts. No email required to earn. No keystroke or code content ever leaves your machine.
You set a maximum CPM bid per slot type. At each impression, a second-price auction runs server-side — you pay ₹0.01 above the second-highest bid, never more than your max.
Balances accumulate in real time. Monthly batch payout to UPI once your balance exceeds ₹50. We batch to keep Razorpay payout fees from eating small balances.
All categories are welcome — dev tools, SaaS, crypto, gambling, political, and more. Each ad is one line of text, one logo, and a clickable link. The only rule: developers under 18 see developer-focused ads only; unrestricted categories are shown exclusively to verified 18+ users.
The impression counter, earnings tally, and payout pipeline are all in the open-source server repo. You can run your own backend with your own Razorpay keys — complete zero-trust option. We also maintain a public ledger of total ₹ distributed, updated weekly.
Any Indian bank account comes with a UPI ID automatically (check your bank app → Payments → UPI). Supported: GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Cred, and any UPI-enabled banking app. Non-Indian developers: international payout options are on the roadmap for Q3 2026.
